Our Story and Mission
Discovery Den Playhouse began with Wanda Buncamper noticing something important in her own classroom: neurodivergent children and teens regularly missed out on safe, social places to unwind, connect with peers, and simply be themselves after school. Driven by her years as a certified special education teacher, Wanda wanted to change that experience for Brooklyn families. She envisioned a play space where inclusion, sensory comfort, and understanding are never just added on - they are the foundation. Discovery Den is the result, built with professional expertise and a passion for helping every child grow, learn, and build joyful friendships.

Save Your Spot

Our Summer 2026 pilot program is your opportunity to access a play space built entirely for neurodivergent children and teens. Discovery Den Playhouse offers sensory-safe environments, inclusive activities, and a supportive community for families who often feel overlooked in traditional spaces. This 8-week program is intentionally limited to ensure every child receives the attention and care they deserve. Submit your interest today to secure priority access and help us create a program that truly meets your family’s needs.
